The long time love-triangle between Lucas, Peyton and Brooke becomes two. Deb begins using drugs again fearing for her life after Dan threatens her. Both Haley and Karen are pregnant. Lucas finds out what really happened to Keith and Nathan gets involved with a loan shark who wants him to lose the state championship. While Peyton begins to track down her brother, only to be stalked and attacked by the fake brother as he takes both Peyton and Brooke hostage on the night of the school formal. Brooke and Rachel begin to become friends after Peyton and Brooke's falling out.
